How we use AI
AI helps read your files and draft some of the wording. It never makes up a price, and it never writes a review for you.
Prices and reviews
Prices come from you. Every price in a proposal was either copied from your estimate and checked against the file, or typed in by you. If we can’t read a number clearly, we flag it for you to check. If your estimate is a scan or a photo, every price is flagged, because there’s no text in the file for us to check against.
Reviews come from your customers. They are copied word for word from what you pasted or typed in. A review doesn’t appear in any proposal until you’ve approved it.
Where AI is used
| Where | What it does | What you control |
|---|---|---|
| Importing your estimate | Reads your file and copies each line and price into the proposal, in the same groups your estimate used. | Every price is checked against your file. If something couldn't be read clearly, we flag it for you. |
| Draft from scope notes | Turns your notes about the job into proposal pages. | It only uses prices you gave it. You can change anything in the draft. |
| The project story | Writes a page in plain words about what you're building, based on your line items. Only if you ask for it. | It doesn't print until you've read it, and it doesn't touch prices. |
| The first line of your letter | Writes a sentence or two about this job for your opening letter, based on the project description. | Delete it if you don't want it. If the project has no description, it's left out. |
| The kind of job | Reads the project description to name the job on the cover, for example “Your kitchen remodel proposal”. | You can change it on the project page. |
| Sorting lines into groups | Puts a new estimate's lines into the groups your template or past proposal already has. | No lines are dropped and no prices change. Anything it can't place goes into a group of its own. |
| Writing help (✦ or ⌘K) | Rewrites the text you're working on the way you ask, like shorter or friendlier. | It only runs when you ask, and you see the new text before it replaces yours. |
| AI check before sending | Reads the whole proposal for typos, numbers that don't match, and anything that looks like it was written for another job. | It's optional and doesn't change anything. It can be wrong, so still read the proposal yourself. |
| Pasting your reviews | Finds the individual reviews in text you paste from a review site. | Each review is kept word for word. We only keep a star rating or date if the site showed one. |
| Reading your website | When we set up your company, it reads your website for your logo, contact details and company story. | Anything it filled in is marked until you've checked it. |
Everything else
We don’t rewrite your saved pages, fine print, templates or company details. When AI drafts something, you see it and can change it before your client does.
